New Digs For KUAF-FM

KUAF-FM, the National Public Radio affiliate based at the University of Arkansas, has hired SSI General Contractors to construct its new facility at 9 S. School St. in Fayetteville, next to the library. A ground-breaking ceremony was held in February, with Chancellor David Gearhart introducing James Blair, honorary chair of the fundraising committee that made construction possible. The state-of-the-art facility will be larger than its current home on Dickson Street and will be better equipped to expand programming and regional news coverage. In addition to its existing FM station, KUAF will add three new high-definition radio stations. The new facility will also include space for expanded regional and national programming, public events, and live performances. The site is also being developed to leave room for future growth.
