Teresa has been with the Fulbright College Advising Center since 2006 and with the University of Arkansas since 1995. As a native of Northwest Arkansas, the University of Arkansas Razorback Traditions are vitally important to her. Having received her BA in Communication in 2004 and an MA in Communication in 2007 from the University of Arkansas, Teresa truly believes in the value of the educational experience. “Every student is an asset to our campus and our community. It is my job to give my students the tools they need to be successful and to reach their potential.” Teresa believes that education is extremely important and any opportunity to learn new information or a new skill should be seized. Helping students learn to appreciate these opportunities, and watching them open new doors through these opportunities, is what she loves most about advising.
Teresa is a published author with interests in Communication and Gender Studies. Additionally, she served as a member of the ArkAAN (Arkansas Academic Advising Network) Executive Board from 2010-2018, and has been a member of ArkAAN and NACADA (National Academic Advising Association) since 2006. Additionally, Teresa has been a member of NISTS (National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students) since 2014.
Teresa's hobbies include reading, traveling, and life-long learning. She is an avid reader and collector of books from any genre. She also loves to travel and has been to 5 different countries to date. However, her favorite hobby is playing with her grandchildren. Their joy, laughter, and love is infectious and a great reminder to seize each day fully.
