As Assistant to the Dean, Dawn schedules deans’ meetings and appearances; plans and oversees special events for the college; assists with the tenure-track hiring process; responds to requests from internal and external stakeholders; provides clerical and administrative support; and coordinates and communicates within and among offices and entities as needed.
Her background in Home Economics Education, Interior Design, Curriculum and Instruction, and Instructional Design and Multimedia Development comes into play for some of her assigned projects. In her free time, Dawn enjoys reading, creative writing, dabbling in encaustic and mixed media art projects, auditing UA classes, dancing (especially tango), gardening and landscaping projects, music, photography, and travel. Most memorable trip: off-shore sail from Seattle (including a gale off Cape Flattery) to La Paz, Mexico and the Sea of Cortez. Actually, the bus trip from Loreto to NW Arkansas was pretty notable, with middle-of-the-night searches at check-points by armed guards all the way up the Baja Peninsula.
