Steps for the External Recruitment Process

  1. Ensure that the department head/dean has approved funding for the position (if this is a new hire and not a replacement hire)

  2. Complete the New Hire Request Form (submit to the Dean/Director at once completed)

  3. Update or modify the position description in PeopleAdmin 7

  4. Create the posting (once the position description is updated and the hiring request has been approved)

  5. Begin reviewing applicants according to the minimum and the preferred qualifications

  6. Start the interview process

  7. Make an offer to the finalist (s)

  8. Start the onboarding process, including new hire paperwork and any applicable BASIS transactions
