Ali Place is a designer, educator and researcher committed to achieving equity and inclusion through design. Her research examines social, political and economic systems of oppression that are perpetuated through design and explores feminist methodologies for dismantling inequitable power structures. She is currently writing a book about the intersection of feminism and design, which aims to empower socially conscious designers to incorporate equity-centered design methods into their work. She has presented her research at universities and conferences both nationally and internationally, and has received numerous awards for her design work.
Ali is currently an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design in the School of Art at the University of Arkansas. She teaches all levels of design, but specializes in emerging technologies and speculative design.
