Eli Kessler earned his BFA from Tyler School of Art, Temple University and an MFA in sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University.  Primarily a maker of objects, he approaches sculpture as a way to examine particular artifacts, rituals, and cultural phenomena. His work has led him to investigate methods such as metal fabrication, woodworking, video, kinetics, casting, and digital fabrication.  He has exhibited his work in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh PA, Newton MA, Washington D.C. and New York, NY.  Eli has previously taught at Carnegie Mellon University, University of California Pennsylvania, Vermont College of Fine Art, and Virginia Commonwealth University.
