Graduate Doctoral Fellowships

DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS IN BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES

These 12 month Fellowships supplement regular TA or RA stipends. Support through these Fellowships can be provided for up to 4 years if good progress towards the Ph.D. degree is maintained.

DOCTORAL ACADEMY FELLOWSHIPS - $10,000 supplement

For students entering with M.S.

  • GPA > 3.65
  • GRE of 1100 or better +5 or better on writing score
  • Strong letters of recommendation
  • Completion of a research-based Masters Thesis (Publications derived from that thesis would be considered a strong positive addition to application)

For students entering with B.S.

  • GPA > 3.50
  • GRE > 1100 or better +5 or better on writing score
  • Strong letters of recommendation
  • Evidence of undergraduate research accomplishments (Participation in undergraduate research with special consideration given to those participating in competitive programs such as NSF-REU programs)

DISTINGUISHED DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS - supplement of up to $20,000

For students entering with M.S.

  • GPA > 3.80
  • GRE of 1200 or better +5.5 or better on writing score
  • Strong letters of recommendation
  • Completion of a research-based Masters Thesis (Publications derived from that thesis would be considered as strong positive addition to the application)

For students entering with B.S.

  • GPA > 3.65
  • GRE of 1200 or better +5.5 or better on writing score
  • Strong letters of recommendation
