LewEllyn Hallett has been Teaching Specialist for the Program in Rhetoric and Composition since Summer 2013, as well as an instructor in the English Department teaching courses in rhetoric and composition. She earned her BA in English/Creative Writing from the University of New Mexico and her MFA in Creative Writing (Poetry) from Bowling Green State University, where she also taught composition and creative writing courses. In between these degrees, she had overlapping careers as a writer in advertising, public relations and journalism, and non-profit administrator. Her research interests now lie in composition pedagogy, and she continues to write poetry and fiction.
As Teaching Specialist, Ms. Hallett handles scheduling the ten courses under the Program’s purview and making teaching assignments for these courses, advises teaching assistants and instructors, assists with events for teaching assistants such as orientation and teaching workshops, and assists the director with other administrative duties.
