Adriana Potra specializes in economic geology and radiogenic isotope geochemistry. Her research interests focus on constraining the origin of metals in ore deposits, assessing the environmental effects due to mining, and on large-scale tectonic reconstructions using radiogenic isotope methods. Her research emphasizes isotopic studies of strategic minerals deposits and enhances understanding of their geochemistry and tectonic framework. Ongoing projects include evaluating the effects on environment of mining the Mississippi Valley-type deposits in Arkansas and the Tri-State District, and constraining the sources of metals in the Mississippi Valley-type deposits from the mid-continent US. She teaches Mineralogy-Petrology and courses at the graduate level, including Economic Geology and Geochemistry.
