"Make Room For Pie" documentary nominated for Mid-America Emmy

"Make Room for Pie, " produced by School of Journalism and Strategic Media chair Larry Foley, has been nominated for a Mid America Emmy for Lifestyle Program. Instructor Hayot Tuychiev has received a nomination for editing.
Ron Robinson, of Little Rock, a University of Arkansas graduate, the former leader
of Arkansas’ largest advertising and public relations firm, and a long-time supporter
of the U of A School of Journalism and Strategic Media died Tuesday, Aug. 14 after
a long illness. He was 75.
Student teams from the University of Arkansas School of Journalism and Strategic Media won both first and second place in the 2017-18 Collegiate ECHO Marketing Challenge.
Broyles tribute film, researched and written by Journalism Chair Larry Foley, to debut on August 14

“Frank Broyles, Arkansas Legend,” a tribute film to the late University of Arkansas head football coach and men’s director of athletics, will be released online at ArkansasRazorbacks.com on Tuesday, August 14, on the one-year anniversary of Broyles’ passing. Coach Broyles passed away at his home in Fayetteville on August 14, 2017 at the age of 92.

Claretha Hughes, Professor of Human Resource and Workforce Development, and Lucy Brown, Clinical Assistant Professor of Journalism, conducted focus groups of professionals with supervisory experience from a range of fields, including corporations, non-profits and academic institutions. Their findings were published in June in Advances in Developing Human Resources.
