Journalism Organizations

The Ad Club

The Ad Club is for students who wish to participate in the Northwest Arkansas advertising community. Professor Lucy Brown is the adviser for Ad Club.

Society of Professional Journalists

The School of Journalism and Strategic Media sponsors a student chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Students in all journalism sequences work together on important issues including the Freedom of Information Act and how to secure media jobs after graduation. Every spring, the student SPJ chapter sponsors the student government presidential debate, a program that airs live on campus TV station UATV. In 1998, the UA SPJ chapter was voted co-chapter of the year by the national SPJ, over college chapters in Arkansas, Louisianna, Mississippi and Tennessee.

The Public Relations Student Society of America

The Public Relations Student Society of America is an organization that strives to develop future public relations practitioners who are well-informed and well-prepared professionals.
