Opera Theatre

The University Opera Theater is a premier ensemble at the University of Arkansas, comprised of upper classmen and community singers. The University Opera Theater presents a scenes program each fall semester, and in the spring a major production that features the Opera Chorus, Concert Choir, or the North Arkansas Children's Chorus. The Opera Theater prides itself on use of non-traditional venue, having staged productions at the Dickson Street Theater and St. Paul's Church. It has presented two Arkansas premiers: Britten's Turn of the Screw, and Poulenc's La Voix Humaine. The University Opera Theater is supported by the ASG group University Friends of Opera. Membership in this group is open to any student with an interest in Opera.
