Master of Arts in Political Science

Welcome

The Political Science faculty congratulates you for admission to the program and welcomes you to our growing cadre of students and alumni. We will do our best to help you in your professional development. In return, we ask you to make a serious commitment to the program, the Department, and your fellow students.

Placement

Our graduates have gone into a variety of professional positions or continued their education. Since 2010, our alumni have enrolled in doctoral programs in Political Science at institutions such as Emory University, University of Missouri, University of North Texas, University of Oklahoma, Simon Fraser University, and Vanderbilt University. Others have continued their education by enrolling in the University of Arkansas School of Law, as well as our Education Reform and Public Policy Ph.D. programs.

Most graduates went directly into the workplace, and they have found success in a variety of positions. Our graduates during the last five years include a legislative research manager at Walmart, a public affairs specialist for a VA hospital, a lecturer at a college, the Director of Development at Habitat for Humanity of Pulaski County, an export manager at a local manufacturing company, a researcher for a media think-tank, and a project coordinator for the World Bank.
