Abbigail Graupner graduated from the University of Arkansas with degrees in Spanish Language and International Business Economics. Upon completing her degrees, she followed her childhood dream of becoming a Peace Corps Volunteer. She served as an Education and Community Development Officer in Jargalant soum, Tov aimag, Mongolia from 2014-2016. As a volunteer, she worked to improve Ministry of Education pedagogy, encouraged entrepreneurial development, and designed and implemented Mongolia’s largest Let Girls Learn gender empowerment and environmental awareness seminar. Shortly after finishing her service in Mongolia, Abby returned to Peace Corps with PC Response. She served as a Rural Extension Agent in Guatemala, working alongside Ministry of Agriculture Extension Agents in Santa Clara la Laguna, Sololá to improve extension methods used to decrease the prevalence of malnutrition as well as to further develop the infrastructure of Peace Corps’ Food Security Program. In 2018, Abby accepted a position as Logistic Coordinator and US Sales Support for Orquídeas Holandesas, a Guatemalan start-up that produces and sells the world’s highest quality Cymbidium orchids as cut flowers.
