Italian Professor Receives Fulbright Award

Ryan Calabretta-Sajder, professor of Italian, has a number of accolades and now he can add the Fulbright Foundation for Southern Italy Award.

This award will enable Calabretta-Sajder to spend the spring semester in Italy and allow him time to finish his second manuscript, Beyond the Margin or Within the Cannon: The Novels of Amara Lakhous.

The aim of the award is to promote a better knowledge of the south of Italy and exchange research in south-related issues at the universities in south Italy.

In addition to completing his manuscript, Calabretta-Sajder will also offer two courses in the Laurea magistrale program (master's program) at the University of Calabria, Arcavacata and join the faculty of the three-week Italian Diaspora Studies Summer Seminar.
