On January 22nd, in conjunction with the School of Art, Classics Program and the Center for World Languages, the University of Arkansas Museum is hosting its first ever “No Experience Necessary”
Drawing Event at 4PM at the Language Center on campus. This event will give participants
the opportunity to learn how to draw pottery from the Museum’s Greco-Roman collection.
This event will be taught by Professor Kasey Ramirez from the School of Art. In addition,
it will feature free Mediterranean snacks and a selection of the Museum’s Greco-Roman
artifacts available for viewing. The event is for U of A students only.
No drawing experience? No problem. Any student who is interested is encouraged to
participate in this event.
During the event, participants will learn how to draw with pottery subjects that are
thousands of years old! All supplies will be provided and participants will be able
to take their art home after the event. If you would like, you can bring your own
supplies but it is not required.
For those who can’t make the 4PM start, the Museum offers free collection tours during
opening hours. Please feel free to contact curator Laurel Lamb to set up a time to
take one of our fantastic tours.
If you are planning to attend this event, please fill out the short interest form
below. Since there is a limited number of spots, we want to make sure we have enough
supplies for everyone attending. See you there!
