Philosophy & Political Science

Philosophy and Political Science is a natural double major.  In a political science class, under the heading of "political theory," you will usually find many of the same readings you will find in a political philosophy class.  In fact, it's hard to tell where one stops and the other begins.  Political Science gives more consideration to the descriptive and empirical aspects of politics; Political Philosophy is more normative and conceptual.  Together these disciplines can yield a deep and broad understanding of political reality.  Students considering law school and jobs in the public sector should benefit from this double major.
