Robert D. Maurer Distinguished Lecture Series:
The Science and Art of Taming Light
Thursday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m.
The Robert D. Maurer Distinguished Lecture Series is back after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic. Join us on Thursday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. to hear from Dr. Lene Hau, the Mallinckrodt Professor of Physics and of Applied Physics and faculty of the Harvard Biophysics Program. Dr. Hau is famous for slowing light down to normal everyday speeds and even stopping it.
Areas of Study
The Department of Physics was one of the twelve winners of the Gentec-Electro Optics Laser Lab Awards contest. We have won a QE25LP-H-MB-INT-D0 detector pyroelectric laser energy detector that is valued at more than $2000. We have no doubt that this energy detector will contribute to the learning process of our students and foster new research and industrial opportunities. The instrument was donated by Gentec Electro-Optics, Inc.
