Master of Arts in Political Science
The Political Science faculty congratulates you for admission to the program and welcomes you to our growing cadre of students and alumni. We will do our best to help you in your professional development. In return, we ask you to make a serious commitment to the program, the Department, and your fellow students.
Our graduates have gone into a variety of professional positions or continued their education. Since 2010, our alumni have enrolled in doctoral programs in Political Science at institutions such as Emory, Missouri, North Texas, Oklahoma, Simon Fraser, and Vanderbilt. Others have continued their education by enrolling in the Law School at the University of Arkansas, as well as our Education Policy and Public Policy Ph.D. programs.
The majority of graduates went directly into the workplace, and they have found success in a variety of positions. Our graduates during the last five years include a legislative research manager at Walmart, a public affairs specialist for a VA hospital, a lecturer at a college, the Director of Development at Habitat for Humanity of Pulaski County, an export manager at a local manufacturing company, a researcher for a media think-tank, and a project coordinator for the World Bank. An independent study estimated the average first-year earnings of our recent MA graduates at $44,202.
