Academics
The AAST program at the University of Arkansas provides a truly interdisciplinary education. Our courses engage topics such as History, Political Science, English, Sociology,
Social Work, Education, Journalism and languages such as Swahili and Portuguese. We offer a holistic view of world history and change.
Further, by studying the African diaspora both at home and abroad, students will discover and examine tools used to organize for positive change and social justice. AAST courses are some of the most diverse at the University of Arkansas, exposing
students to a diversity of people and thought.
