First U of A student to earn Clinton Scholarship
Caroline Osborn, a senior honors student at the University of Arkansas, earned a highly competitive William Jefferson Clinton Scholarship to study at the American University in Dubai this fall.
Osborn, from Conway, is a French and Middle East Studies double major, with a minor in Arabic in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences. Osborn will complete a Certificate in Middle East Studies at ADU, while also continuing to study Arabic.
She is the first U of A student to earn a Clinton scholarship!
"I cannot think of a better ambassador to represent the University of Arkansas' Arabic program abroad. Her experience there will not only enhance her understanding of Arabic language and culture, but will also open up new career opportunities and pave the way for future U of A students to study at AUD."
Dr. Adnan Haydar - Professor of Arabic
Caroline's astounding achievement is one of many examples of the endless opportunities that language provides.
Studies have shown that multilingual individuals have more efficient brains and improved cognitive ability. Also, knowing multiple languages could present more job and academic possibilities.
