Carmen Winant is an artist and the Roy Lichtenstein Chair of Studio Art at the Ohio State University; her work utilizes installation and collage strategies to examine feminist modes of survival and revolt.
Winant's recent projects have been shown at the Museum of Modern Art, Sculpture Center, Wexner Center of the Arts, the Cleveland Museum of Art, The Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo, and as part of the CONTACT Photography Festival, which mounted twenty-six of her billboards across Canada. Forthcoming projects will take place at The Print Center, Philadelphia, ICA Boston, and Minneapolis Institute of Art. Winant's recent artist’s books include My Birth, Notes on Fundamental Joy, and Instructional Photography: Learning How To Live Now; forthcoming books are Arrangements and A Brand New End: Survival and Its Pictures. Winant is a 2019 Guggenheim Fellow in photography, a 2020 FCA Artist Honoree and a 2021 American Academy of Arts and Letters award recipient. She is a mother to her two sons, Carlo and Rafa, shared with her partner, Luke Stettner.

The School of Art and Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas is pleased to announce it will be hosting Steve McGuire, Professor of 3D Design and Director of the School of Art and Art History at the University of Iowa. Professor McGuire is internationally recognized for his interdisciplinary coursework related to Hand-Built Bikes. Professor McGuire is scheduled to join us in Northwest Arkansas from March 6 – 9 to share his artistic practice and educative work related to bike building.

The Windgate Arts and Design District has open the doors to the new Studio and Design Center where students are studying ceramics, graphic design, photography, printmaking, painting, and drawing.
