New Transfer
Welcome to the University of Arkansas and the Fulbright College!
Here in Fulbright College Academic Services, we want to help guide you as you begin your UARK academic journey. The steps listed below are designed to give you a smooth start to that journey.
Note: Please do not follow these steps if you are a previous University of Arkansas student returning. This is only for new Fulbright Transfer Studetns. Returning students can follow the instructions for Previous Students here.
First Steps
Apply to the University of Arkansas.
- Follow all instructions from Admissions Office
- Submit required materials like:
- Transcripts
- If you are currently enrolled, you will also need to submit a new transcript once those courses are completed.
- Immunization Records
- Transcripts

There are three important systems to set up ASAP:
- UARK Email
- This is the primary way that you will be contacted by UARK offices
- It is a good habit to check this email daily
- Blackboard
- This system is where you will access any online components to your classes
- You will schedule avsising appointments here as well
- Workday
- This system contains your student records including transfer credit
- You will use this system to register for classes

Please complete our Advising Request Form.
- This form will get you connected with an advisor.
- You will be asked to log in using your UARK username and password.
- Within a few days, you will receive an advisor and information on how to schedule an advising appointment.
The Advising Appointment
- Review degree requirements in the U of A Catalog & our major maps.
- Review transfer credit in your Workday account.
- If you are currently enrolled in courses at another school, make sure you send in
a new transcript once those are complete.
- Write down these courses for your advising appointment

- Review your academic progress report in Workday.
- Check your holds.
- Advising Hold - This means that you need to work with your advisor to plan your courses.
- On-boarding Hold - This means that you need to complete the steps for on-boarding in Workday.
- Immunization Records Hoold - This means that you need to submit your immunization records to the Pat Walker Health Center. More information here.
- Initial Advising Appointments are scheduled for 45 minutes to 1 hour
- The Advisor you meet with will be your permanent Advisor.
- Future advising appointments will be 30 minutes and scheduled with the same Advisor.
- You can also email your Advisor any quick, follow-up questions you have.
- What will happen in the Appointment?
- You and your Advisor will:
- Ensure your major(s) and any minors are correct
- Discuss your graduation goal
- Review your transfer credit
- Review your degree requirements
- Plan your next semesters classes
- Discuss dgree progress and path to graduation
- Referrals to other university offices as needed
- Remove advising hold
- You and your Advisor will:
- Registration
- You get to build your own schedule!
- Your Advisor will not register you for classes
- You will register through your Workday account
