Are you beginning classes with us in the Summer or Fall?  We look forward to meeting you during your Summer Orientation session.

Please register for New Student Orientation and check your email regularly.  During orientation you will meet with an advisor to review and edit your class schedule.

  • You will attend a few brief trainings on the University Core requirements and How to Register.

  • You will meet with a Professional Academic Advisor one-on-one to plan your courses.

  • Finally, you will register for your classes!

To ensure that your advising session goes as smooth as possible, read through the information about preparing for your advising session below.

For the last part of your Orientation Session, you will be advised for your schedule and register for your classes.

Important note: You may be pre-registered in 6-12 hours prior to your orientation session.  No need to panic, as these courses can easilly be changed.  We try to pre-enroll you in a partial schedule of good courses based on placement and the major you indicated when you applied.  Again, these courses can be easilly changed during your advising session.

When we advise you on your schedule, we consider a 360 Lifeview to help you make the best choices. We want to emphasize that there isn’t a right or wrong way to approach college, but there are many strategic options to consider when making your schedule.

In our opinion, the best choice is one that helps you explore your interests and one that you understand the way it fits into your plan. Does the class prepare you for a class in the future? Does it help you “try on” a major to see if it fits? Does the class help you develop a skill you’d like to acquire?

You’re an expert on all things YOU- from your educational background to your future goals. During your Orientation Session, we will give you a pre-advising worksheet to complete before meeting with an advisor.  We hope that you'll complete this with you family & guests over the lunch session.  You can download and print it ahead of time to bring with you too.

Download and Print the Pre-Advising Worksheet (form will be posted soon)

We will hand out these worksheets during your NSO Session, too.

Send in your Official Records

We need official records for test scores and college-level credit to make sure the credits you tell us about will show on your UA official transcript.

 > If you have any transcripts from concurrent/dual credit courses, be sure to send the transcript from the college or university to our Registrar’s office.

> If you have any AP credit to report, send your official scores from the College Board to the University of Arkansas. You can wait until your final results are in and send your final transcript in July.

> If you have any IB credit, request your official test scores through IBO and have them sent to the University of Arkansas.

All of your test and transfer credit transcripts should be sent to the UA Registrar's Office.  Their information is below.
